Dinos!

On the Sunday before the "worst winter storm to hit north texas in 25 years" happened, we decided to check out the Dinosaur exhibit at the Heard Museum.

I had been wanting to take Kate because she really likes dinosaurs. At least she really likes the ones on Dinosaur Train on PBS and she likes reading books about dinosaurs. So when I read my friend Laura's blog, I decided we needed to go before the exhibit closed.

Kate was really excited at first...

And like most of my brilliant ideas (going to the car wash, seeing Santa, etc)...she was soon terrified. Actually, that may be an understatement.

I didn't realize that pretty much all of the life size dinos moved and made sounds. Ooops!

Nice calm dinosaur.
We like you because you are small and do not move or make creepy sounds.

We are now rethinking this trip...all of us...

Yep, bad idea

Looking directly into the sun takes away fear, right?

Sincerely concerned that we are continuing this hike...

Even less happy...

Ignore how close it is to me...but fully appreciate the *terror*
Yep, Parents of the Year. right here!!

PT actually getting her to pet a dinosaur

Nope, still scared

Attempting to come full circle and visit the nice dinosaur

Checking out the indoor bug/reptile exhibits...which she really liked

Creepy sssss-nakes!

Kate loved looking at the pretend habitats

Bugs! She had a blast playing with bugs that were larger than her own head...go figure

In the gift shop on the way out, PT found a little round dino...he thought it resembled mommy. Must be all that sweet talking that keeps me around. :)
